Homemade Tick Repellant Concentrate

Tick infestations in Ontario are on the rise, particularly the blacklegged tick, which can transmit Lyme disease. Increased warming temperatures and urbanization are contributing to their spread into residential areas. Any areas where grass is long, brush, heavy undergrowth especially along walking, hiking trails, parkland, woodlands, farms and agricultural areas.

We have investigated many, many different recommendations for tick repellant and have settled on this recipe. Follow the instructions and spray often on your clothing, especially around ankles and pant legs.

Ingredients: lavender, cedar, geranium, peppermint essential oils.

Instructions: Mix 20 drops with 1 cup water & 2 cups apple cider vinegar. Put in a spray bottle. Store in a cool dry place for up to 1 year. One of these small bottles should give you numerous applications.
