We’re Hiring – Farm Lead Hand

About the Position

We are looking for a passionate and experienced “farm operator” to lead and manage our organic market garden and greenhouse operations. This role includes working with management in the planning, planting, cultivating, harvesting as well as the coordination of sales to our farmers markets, special events, CSA box program and farmgate sales.

Part-time, Seasonal or Year-Round

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in overseeing daily operations of the market gardens and greenhouses
  • Take part in the planning and implementation of farming practices, crop rotations, planting, transplanting and harvesting schedules
  • Assist with seed starting, soil health, irrigation, composting, pest/disease and weed management using organic and biodynamic recommendations
  • Coordinate picking (harvesting), washing, and packing for delivery of produce for markets and CSA program
  • Supervise seasonal staff, volunteers or interns as needed
  • Monitor supply needs and maintain farm records
  • Ensure health and safety standards are met at all times
  • Work with and communicate with management on a daily basis

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing market gardens and greenhouse operations
  • Experience and knowledge of organic and biodynamic practices beneficial
  • Passionate about sustainable and regenerative agriculture
  • Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all seasons and all weather conditions
  • Good leadership and communication skills required to oversee helpers and volunteers
  • Personable and able to work in a team environment

We’re Hiring – Farm Kitchen Lead

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced kitchen with a passion for preserving fresh produce through a variety of methods - canning, pickling,, fermenting and drying. Join our farm team and help transform our seasonal harvests into high-quality pickled, canned and fermented products. Must have a valid food handler certificate. Must work well in a team alongside our farm helpers and volunteers.

Part-time, Full-time Seasonal, Negotiable

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, sort and process fresh produce for fermentation, pickling, jam and canning
  • Monitor and adjust fermentation batches as per recipes
  • Sterilize jars, lids, tools and equipment according to food safety standards
  • Pack, seal label and store finished products for sale or farm use
  • Maintain accurate records of batches, ingredients and inventory
  • Follow and improve recipes in collaboration with farm staff
  • Oversee and train seasonal helpers or volunteers to assist you as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen in compliance with health and safety regulations.
